Timeless Kitchen Surfaces
Soapstone is one of those materials that feels both timeless and approachable. It is a natural stone formed over millions of years from talc, chlorite, and other minerals. The result is a soft, durable stone with a unique, earthy feel.
One of the best features of soapstone is its heat resistance. It can handle the heat from pots, pans, and baking trays without a hitch—perfect for busy kitchens or baking stations. You can even set a hot pan down directly on it without worrying about burns or marks.
No Sealing Required
Soapstone is naturally non-porous and stain resistant. It’s made up of hydrophobic talc, which gives it natural water-repelling properties. Although sealing is not required, using mineral oil can help decrease the appearance of scratches and help develop a dark patina, enhancing the natural aging process.
